World NewsInternational Team Discovers New Planet, Old Zealand!circa 1 January 2100 The National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States of America announced this morning that their astronaut team, including some members of other international space agencies, have landed in the planet Proxima Centauri B. Located 4.2 light years from Earth, the planet is the closest habitable planet to ours. The mission to this planet, code named Columbus, started 10 years ago after the invention of rockets going about half the speed of light. The team's most prominent astronauts are Michael Higgins from the US, Kaitlin McLaughlin from New Zealand, and Zhao Xuefeng from China. There were also about 50 crew members in the ship (also called Columbus). The planet was named by McLaughlin, after Higgins reportedly asked how she would name the planet after seeing it in person. She replied "Old Zealand" in jest, but the name caught on, and NASA has adopted the name for the planet officially. Satellite maps of the planet have been made, but for simplicity this illustration by a man only known as Azgaar will be used. The first is terrain, the second is blank.
