POLITICAL PARTIES ACTArticle 1 1. Any lawful citizen of Old Zealand may establish a political party, which shall be defined as a group of citizens which has a political ideology of any kind and may stand in elections.
2. Political parties may be created and destroyed at any time, but only by their leader. They may not be destroyed or barred from elections for any reason except if they are explicitly discriminatory or hateful, as this is a violation of Article 4, Section 2 of the Constitution.
3. Political parties are required to be registered in order to be put on the electoral ballot. Registration is done by telegramming the President or the Founder with the name of the party, as well as a dispatch detailing the ideology of the party, its logo or political color (for usage in diagrams), and members.
Article 2 1. Political parties may form electoral alliances with other political parties, which are groups of political parties that stand in elections under one name. Political parties are free to join and leave electoral alliances as they wish.
2. Political parties may form coalitions with other political parties, which are groups of political parties that do not stand in elections under one name, but are mandated to follow guidelines set by other political parties within the coalition. The guidelines are to be decided by the members of the coalition, but may not be discriminatory or hateful. Political parties are free to join and leave coalitions as they wish.
